I L๐VE Music and have always wished I could dance, too. I enjoy watching people dance- everything from Hip Hop to Ball Room. But Iโve always been embarrassed to dance in front of others because joint stiffness and limited range of motion often has me moving like the Tin Man from the WIZ. ๐คญ๐คฃ
BUT in my journey of learning to RELEASE ALL WORRIES and to embrace JOY Iโm also releasing my insecurities. I used to care a lot about what people think and how they viewed me. I worried more about that more than about how I felt about myself. I THANK GOD for growth. This butterfly has come out of her cocoon, colorful, creative and ready to dance like no one is watching. I enjoy dancing even if Iโm not quite on the beat๐. I saw this #dancechallenge everywhere on social media so I figured, why not give it a try??? Hereโs a few facts about Knee Replacements
๐ knee replacement surgeries are performed as a last resort after all other measures (physical therapy medicines ,injections, weight loss) have failed to relieve the pain and the patient mobility is severely affected.
๐New knees lasts an average of 15-20 years before a revision surgery may be needed.
๐ Ages 50 to 70 is the common bracket for knee replacement patients.
๐ The goal for having knee replacement surgery is to relieve pain and improve quality of life and function.
Before my knee replacements ,6 years ago, I was using a cane and could no longer climb stairs. Since I had both knees replaced, my mobility and function have improved tremendously. So for me, the surgery was a success.
I have other chronic symptoms caused by RA that still affect my joints BUT I am โจ๏ธ THANKFUL๐โจ๏ธfor the ability to walk without a cane and even to โจDANCE๐๐พ like no one is watching.๐ฆ.
